Health Care for Children in Custody
All children in Cuyahoga County custody, whether placed in foster or kinship care, are provided health care through Medicaid. The child’s DCFS caseworker will serve as the point of contact for the managed care plan and help with other tasks, including:
- Processing requests to administer or modify psychotropic medications.
- Processing requests for surgical, invasive, or non-routine procedures.
- Arranging for second opinions regarding psychotropic medications.
- Assisting with coordination of MetroHealth Medical Home.
The Process for Applying
