Cuyahoga County, East Cleveland City School District Host Expungement Clinic on January 25th

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH - The Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry and the East Cleveland City School District will host an Expungement Clinic and Resource Fair on Thursday, January 25th. The event is free and open to the public.

An expungement is a legal process that clears any reference of past criminal convictions provided under Section 2953 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Volunteers from the Cuyahoga County Office of the Public Defender as well as students from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law and Cleveland State University College of Law will be on hand to assist people with past criminal convictions to seal and expunge their records.

In addition to legal help, more than 20 County agencies and community groups will be onsite to provide resources for education, employment, housing, food assistance and medical care.

Virginia Benjamin will replace outgoing chair Ken Silliman. Debbie Berry and Bryce Sylvester will replace board members Ron King and Matt Carroll. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing members of the Gateway Board. Their dedicated service has been instrumental in steering the organization, and we appreciate their contributions,” adds Executive Ronayne.
