DCFS Partnering with Neighborhood Collabs to Engage Community and Families

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – The critical lack of treatment and placement resources for youth is causing a crisis for child welfare agencies across the nation and here in Cuyahoga County. The Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is partnering with Murtis Taylor Human Services System to have a dialogue about the trauma, mental, and behavioral health issues facing our children and teens, how we can support youth and families in crisis, and what role DCFS and community partners can have in keeping kids safe.

On Monday, September 25, the community is invited to attend the Safe Kids, Safe Families: Community Conversation & Resources at Murtis Taylor Human Services System, located at 13411 Union Avenue in Cleveland from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

DCFS will offer guidance on when to contact the child abuse hotline or access community services that could help a family in crisis. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and learn about various community-based services.

“We cannot solve this problem alone; we need all our child-serving agencies and community partners to help youth and families in crisis,” said Jacqueline Fletcher, DCFS Director.
