CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH- The Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry and its partners will release an action plan to address the housing needs of formerly incarcerated citizens of Cuyahoga County.  

Recent studies indicate that people with prior criminal records are more likely to experience homelessness. The Housing Justice Plan includes eight action items and long-term objectives intending to significantly reduce the suffering of people with behavioral health challenges cycling through incarceration, homelessness, and hospitals.

Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne, Office of Reentry Director Simeon L. Best and Dr. Richard Cho, Senior Policy Advisor of Housing and Services for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will be joined by housing advocates and individuals affected by the justice system to speak during the presentation.  

The recommendations from the Office of Reentry will be integrated into the comprehensive housing plan for Cuyahoga County by the newly created Department of Housing and Community Development.
