Cuyahoga County ‘Adopt-a-Family’ Program Seeks Community Support

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – You can help provide holiday cheer for children in foster and kinship care with the Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

More than 200 kinship families will receive gifts through the Adopt-a-Family program. For this program, community members are encouraged to “adopt” a family by purchasing a $50 e-gift card for each child as well as $50 e-gift card as a gift for the entire family.

Donors in the Adopt-a-Family program must register online. After registration, donors will receive basic information about their families such as the number of children, their ages, and genders. The outreach staff will forward your gift card purchase to the families in need and the donors will be notified once their families receive the gift cards. Purchases must be made by December 12th.

“The holiday is a time for giving back and making a difference,” said County Executive Armond Budish. “Cuyahoga County has hundreds of children and families in need—I encourage residents to give as they are able. You have the ability to put a smile on someone’s face this holiday.”
