How to File a Complaint
If you believe you have been delayed or denied services because of your race, color, religion, disability, age, gender, sexual orientation or national origin, you may file a complaint within 180 days of the incident or treatment. For more information, review the civil rights section of the Program Enrollment and Benefit Information document.The Office of Customer Relations can help you by:
- Answering your questions/inquiries on your benefit case
- Giving you information about your rights and responsibilities
- Assisting with a concern or communication issue between you and Cuyahoga Job and Family Services staff
- Acting as a facilitator to get your issues resolved
- Assisting you when filing a complaint to Cuyahoga Job and Family Services.
- If the complaint alleges a civil rights discrimination, the office of Customer Relations will coordinate with the Civil Rights Coordinator.

The Civil Rights Coordinator can help you by:
- Serve as a liaison between Ohio Department of Job and Family Services -Bureau of Civil Rights and Cuyahoga Job and Family Services.
- Coordinate with all parties involved on communications and correspondence.
- Monitor, record and fact-finding customer complaints alleging civil rights discrimination.
- Provide information on your rights.
- Work to ensure that your rights are upheld.
- Work in collaboration with the Office of Customer Relations to ensure that the public, customers and community partners, are obtaining efficient and quality services from the Cuyahoga Job and Family Services.
- Share your concerns with Cuyahoga Job and Family Services leadership and other agencies to improve services.
- Provide training, including civil rights and development to agency staff based on community feedback received and customer satisfaction information provided by the Office of Customers Relations.
- Provide you with copy of the Civil Rights, American Disabilities Act and Limited English Proficiency plans
