Adoptable Kids

Adopting a child can be a rewarding and lifechanging experience. The Division of Children and Family Services is looking for families or single adults from all backgrounds who want to give a safe, loving, permanent home to children who need a family.

  • Most children waiting for adoption are African American and Caucasian children ages 10 and older.
  • Many are sibling groups who need to stay together, teenagers, or children who have special needs (including physical, emotional or mental disabilities).
  • Adoptive families can include relatives, single parents, and same sex couples.

Tierra and Mar’kita

Tierra is in high school and excels in her academics. She also enjoys drawing. Tierra recently discovered a new interest in horseback riding. She is very quiet and soft spoken. Tierra is an excellent reader and is drawn to mystery books. She likes rap music. Tierra enjoys being the older sibling who watches out for her little sister.

Mar’kita is very inquisitive and loves to talk about life and her future goals. She gets good grades in school. History is one of her favorite subjects. Markita loves to sing. Mar’Kita discovered a new interest in swimming. The siblings have a close bond to one another. They have four other siblings who they desire to maintain contact with.
