Adoptable Kids
Adopting a child can be a rewarding and lifechanging experience. The Division of Children and Family Services is looking for families or single adults from all backgrounds who want to give a safe, loving, permanent home to children who need a family.
- Most children waiting for adoption are African American and Caucasian children ages 10 and older.
- Many are sibling groups who need to stay together, teenagers, or children who have special needs (including physical, emotional or mental disabilities).
- Adoptive families can include relatives, single parents, and same sex couples.

Martes is a bright and energetic young man. He has a confident smile with a side of humor that can brighten anyone’s day. He is the type of child who feels energies positive or otherwise and adapts accordingly.
Martes is an avid chess player who loves to play and teach chess. Martes likes to do well in school and is proud of his daily accomplishments and does better with praise from his teachers. When presented with high expectations he tries to rise to the occasion like being the class leader.
In Martes’ eyes his forever family would have two parents and siblings, but he would enjoy if it was just him to get all the family love and attention. He would also like to have yard where can go outside and play as well as participate in outdoor activities.
