Adoptable Kids
Adopting a child can be a rewarding and lifechanging experience. The Division of Children and Family Services is looking for families or single adults from all backgrounds who want to give a safe, loving, permanent home to children who need a family.
- Most children waiting for adoption are African American and Caucasian children ages 10 and older.
- Many are sibling groups who need to stay together, teenagers, or children who have special needs (including physical, emotional or mental disabilities).
- Adoptive families can include relatives, single parents, and same sex couples.

Ky’era
August 2009
Ky’era is a fourteen-year-old female. She is a very playful, helpful youth with a nice personality. She enjoys singing and laughing at funny jokes. She likes to play volleyball, basketball (shoot hoops), and card games, especially Spades. She likes school and her favorite subject is math. She feels successful getting good grades in math. She strives to make straight A’s in all school subjects as it makes her proud. An ideal day for her would be going to the park when it’s sunny, eating a bowl of Cookies and Cream ice cream, swinging, and then walking around. She wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.
Ky’era is very family oriented and stays in contact with her siblings which are important connections to maintain for her. She would like a forever family where she is loved and there is a mom/dad and possibly a dog.
