Adoptable Kids

Adopting a child can be a rewarding and lifechanging experience. The Division of Children and Family Services is looking for families or single adults from all backgrounds who want to give a safe, loving, permanent home to children who need a family.

  • Most children waiting for adoption are African American and Caucasian children ages 10 and older.
  • Many are sibling groups who need to stay together, teenagers, or children who have special needs (including physical, emotional or mental disabilities).
  • Adoptive families can include relatives, single parents, and same sex couples.

Please take a look at our wonderful Adoptable Kids.

  • If you are a licensed Foster Caregiver or approved Adoptive Family requesting information about a specific child submit an inquiry and we’ll follow up with you.
  • If you are not a licensed Foster Caregiver or approved Adoptive Family please submit this interest form and we’ll get back to you.

Daval

October 2007
young man sitting and smiling Daval (DJ) longs for the care of a nurturing and loving family. He is a sweet young man that is always willing to lend a helping hand. He loves to read books in his spare time and enjoys learning, especially when it comes to science and animals. DJ aspires to be a Zoologist and is very knowledgeable in this area. He is a 7th grader who excels in school and loves adventure. He enjoys outdoor activities and exploring nature.

DJ is very well-spoken and mature for his age. He has experienced a lot of loss and disappointment but never lets that damper his shine. He loves to joke and is very witty. DJ will flourish with a family who is affirming and always open to discussing emotions and feelings. DJ is well-bonded to his younger siblings and would like to maintain those relationships whether it be in person, video chat, or phone calls.
