Adoptable Kids

Adopting a child can be a rewarding and lifechanging experience. The Division of Children and Family Services is looking for families or single adults from all backgrounds who want to give a safe, loving, permanent home to children who need a family.

  • Most children waiting for adoption are African American and Caucasian children ages 10 and older.
  • Many are sibling groups who need to stay together, teenagers, or children who have special needs (including physical, emotional or mental disabilities).
  • Adoptive families can include relatives, single parents, and same sex couples.

Please take a look at our wonderful Adoptable Kids.

  • If you are a licensed Foster Caregiver or approved Adoptive Family requesting information about a specific child submit an inquiry and we’ll follow up with you.
  • If you are not a licensed Foster Caregiver or approved Adoptive Family please submit this interest form and we’ll get back to you.

Antwon

May 2009
young man smiling outside

Antwon is an animated 14-year-old teen male. He loves to be the focus of attention and does whatever he thinks it takes to be in the limelight. Antwon displays as being bashful and not very talkative, but when you get to know him, he shows you a different side of himself. Antwon does not make friends easily, but he enjoys playing by himself. Antwon is currently in the 8th grade. He has made great strides with his academics. Antwon thrives for attention both at home and school, but he struggles with attachment at times. Antwon enjoys drawing, reading, and playing video games.

This endearing teen needs an adoptive home where he can continue to make positive strides. He is an extremely delightful child. He needs a family who will give him unconditional love and commitment.
