Community Social Services Program
Through community-based service contracts, DSAS provides funding to local agencies that serve our older residents. This funding ensures access to a wide range of services and programs throughout Cuyahoga County.
DSAS provides thousands of older adults and adults with disabilities in Cuyahoga County with the following services:
- Adult day services
- Adult development programs
- Congregate meals
- Transportation
These services help reduce social isolation and loneliness, because studies show that social isolation is as harmful to our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. To help keep seniors happy, healthy, and connected, the County's senior centers offer many daily activities.
Some senior centers also serve as emergency warming and cooling stations during extreme weather. Please contact your local center in advance to ensure it will be open during these times.
